Para contar tu día usas verbos de rutina como get up, have breakfast y go to bed, y para la casa, verbos como make my bed y wash the dishes.

Welcome y unidades 1 y 2: My day and my house · Currículum oficial: OA12

Ideas clave

Se aprenden como un bloque: get up (levantarme), brush my teeth (cepillarme los dientes), have breakfast (tomar desayuno), go to school (ir al colegio), do my homework (hacer la tarea), go to bed (acostarme).
  • Para las comidas se usa have: have breakfast (desayunar), have lunch (almorzar), have dinner (cenar).
  • Para decir en qué momento del día haces algo, usa in: I get up in the morning. I do my homework in the afternoon. I watch TV in the evening. Pero se dice at night: I go to bed at night. Para decir el orden del día sirven before (antes de) y after (después de): I brush my teeth after breakfast. I play video games before dinner.
  • Para contar una rutina, el verbo queda igual con I, you, we y they, y con he y she lleva -s: She gets up in the morning. Si el verbo termina en sh, ch u o, lleva -es: she brushes, he watches, he goes to school after breakfast. Have es especial y se vuelve has: He has breakfast before school.
  • En la casa, los quehaceres se dicen con make, do, wash y clean: make my bed (hacer mi cama), clean my room (limpiar mi pieza), wash the dishes (lavar la loza), do the laundry (lavar la ropa), set the table (poner la mesa), take out the rubbish (sacar la basura) y tidy up (ordenar). Make y do no se pueden cambiar uno por otro: se dice make the bed, y no do the bed.
Para decir qué hay y dónde: There is a table in the kitchen (singular). There are two beds in the bedroom (plural).
  • Para decir dónde está algo, se usan in (dentro de), on (sobre), under (debajo de), next to (al lado de) y behind (detrás de): The cat is under the table. The book is on the bed. The lamp is next to the sofa.
  • Para decir qué haces en cada lugar: I cook in the kitchen. I sleep in the bedroom. I take a shower in the bathroom. Y para decir con qué frecuencia, la palabra va antes del verbo: I always make my bed (siempre). I sometimes wash the dishes (a veces). I never do the laundry (nunca).
